National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 31
Cutting community participation by up to 50% is not “reform” — it’s enforced isolation. When you take away the supports that get our family member out of the house, into the community, and connected to people, you’re stripping away basic human rights.
Slashing capacity-building funding means goals won’t be reached, skills won’t grow, and people will be pushed backwards after years of progress. We’ve already seen what happens when families are left alone under unbearable pressure — tragedies such as the double murder/suicide in Mosman Park in WA in 2026 this year……………………………??
That was a warning, not an anomaly. If this Bill goes through as written, you’re increasing the risk of more preventable tragedies by isolating people and removing the supports that keep them safe, connected, and alive.
