Submission 3186 — Name Withheld — NDIS Future Generations Bill

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 3186

Submission to the Senate Inquiry on the NDIS Act Amendment 2026 Bill.

Dear Senators

I am the grandfather of a severely disabled child. He has many seizures daily and mobility disability, breathing issues, is tube fed and is vision and hearing impaired. His dad, my son, also has a disability and he is sole carer of 3 disabled people. After several AAT cases he has been able to increase work hours now my grandson has 24/7 care.

I am very distressed to see the latest Guardian article that NDIS legal team tried to strip support for a similarly disabled child, 6 year old Sienna. A KC will persist with an appeal of a good ART decision. This article, with the cases of Noah Johnson and 4 year Koa Gibson, both of whom died due to NDIA cuts, show that this Bill is not about saving the scheme for the profoundly disabled. They are heavily targeted too.

I am concerned for my grandson, my son and the whole family if they collapse with these changes to the NDIS funding for much needed help.

It is my strong recommendation that this Bill should not pass in its current form. until much more consideration of harmful consequences are considered. The risk of more deaths is reprehensible.
