National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 3254
The NDIS is important to me. Before the NDIS, I was spending $1000 a fortnight on therapy, I was not eating properly, and my house was falling apart. I couldn’t look after it. I lost my job and couldn’t find another one. I was stuck at home.
Since being on the NDIS, my therapy has been covered, and I don’t need to see them as often. I have a support worker who helps me clean my house and cook. My house still has lots of repairs to get done, but hopefully my support worker can help me get a repair person in to do that. It has really taken away the stress of trying to look after myself, and I have hope for the future. I hope to be able to get back to work in some form.
If I lose the NDIS, I will go back to eating badly and not looking after my house. The stress of just trying to manage will come back. My family try to help, but they have their own issues to deal with.
