Submission 3360 — Ms Urszula Wynd — NDIS Future Generations Bill

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 3360

I submit this submission in the hope that greater compassion be displayed by the government by not making changes which have a negative impact on people with disability. Instead, get into the disability environments and find out why you think the changes are required, then make amends, to continue with a professional mode to support people with disabilities.

We live in a fast-paced, competitive world that isn’t as kind and caring as it should be. Being around people with different types of disabilities helps us to be more compassionate regarding struggles they might be having. The more we learn about the differences in others, the more we discover that we are actually quite similar! In turn, this creates benefits for our individual mental health that we all need: a healthy dose of self-compassion and self-acceptance. What goes around, comes around. When people with disabilities are fully included in community life, it facilitates fresh perspectives such having signers for deaf individuals, swing sets that accommodate children who use wheelchairs at playgrounds. Additionally, the earned income of people with disabilities contributes to the tax base, a definite benefit to local governments and their residents.
