Concerns over program cuts and removal of appeal rights for disabled community

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 3741

To the committee members,

I am deeply concerned and request that you oppose the proposed NDIS bill.

I believe the implementation of this bill will be damaging to the entire disabled community and their families.

Disabled people must be consulted and be part of the decision-making that will affect their lives profoundly.

In particular I request the committee opposes:

  • The cutting of participants from the program based purely on funding shortfalls. The disabled community shouldn’t be punished for poor management or the actions of criminal providers.

  • The removal of the right to appeal a decision.

  • The cutting of community participation which will lead to the disabled being isolated and at greater risk. ‘Unseen & forgotten.’

  • The removal of choice to choose either a registered or unregistered provider.

I urge you to consider the vulnerable in our community who this bill will hurt.
