National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 3783
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
deeply concerned Australian citizen and Mother and mostly Carer for my 31 year old daughter for the past 17 years since she was 14.
has had to move up to Sydney last month (April 2026) from where we live in Melbourne due to her Mast Cell Disorder which has been causing LIFE THREATENING ANAPHYLAXIS.
is unable to live with others and is in SDA in due to the fact that she has life threatening allergic reactions to all perfumes, scented laundry detergents and smells from cooking including cooking smoke, nor residual smells, therefore cannot have cooking in any place where she lives.
We have had hundreds of emergency ambulance trips over the years to hospital to arrive there, and due to the fact that one of the Medical Staff are wearing perfume, Amelia has gone into anaphylaxis. Last April she needed 10 epipens in one month.
My daughter deserves to live a dignified life contributing to society. Last year she was a Facilitator for Tenant Voice which she was very passionate about and thanks to the care she receives from her wonderful Support Workers.
What I understand is that the current government contracts out to Service Providers and now has a problem with the amount being spent. The problem is that NDIS participants are not setting the prices.
How can you blame and target the people who just want and are asking, and deserve to have essential services and dignified lives as we all do.
