National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 3958
I am permanently in a wheelchair and live alone. I engage a cleaner once a week, a gardener as required, and a support person to take me shopping every week and medical appointments as required. None of these providers have other NDIS clients and they charge me at the same rate they charge their other clients, lower than NDIS rates.
They are all reliable, treat me with respect, and I would hate to lose any of them if they are required to register for NDIS in order to keep providing their excellent service. I just don’t see how registration for these providers will be worth their while. I fully understand that people who are vulnerable may need to have more scrutiny applied to their supports, but not all of us are in this category. My 3 main supports have great integrity and don’t want to milk the system for every dollar, unlike the registered providers I sometimes must use for other services. I implore you not to throw out the baby with the

I mostly support the attempts to reign in spending on the scheme. It must be sustainable for those of us with permanent impairment.
Thank you
