National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 4050

We are a provider (GAHSS) Supporting with the submission as he is unable to do it himself as he can’t read or write.

The reason for the submission is feels that he has been let down by the NDIS due to lack of Advocacy and knowledge in the complex NDIS system. was registered on the NDIS system for hearing loss Disability as it was the easiest to provide evidence of due to it being a birth defect issue.

However, has many more underlying issue that have gone unrecognised by the system due to the lack of advocacy. One of which is Cognitive issue stemming from treatment of a brain Tumar that he had in his teen years.

Due to the Brain Tumour and subsequent treatments, has suffered further hearing loss, Vision loss, Vertigo and difficulty with balance creating falling risks and further injuries.

Unfortunately, part of the cancer treatment was provided in New Zealand making it hard to obtain medical records to support his claims hence he has been left without supports that meet his complex needs.

only has the LAC to advocate on his behalf, however feels very let down by them as

they haven’t helped him utilise his funding to obtain therapies to assist with his disabilities. They never reach out to see how is managing and when mentioned his housing was at risk they told him to look for shelters to stay at instead of assisting him. He feels he has been passed on and on, no one helping. has no family connections her in Australia to help advocate for him or provide support.

desperately needs more funding for the supports he requires as well as a support coordinator

to advocate on his behalf.

’s mental health has suffered greatly from all of the stress and worry navigating the system by

himself and desperately needs more assistance in this area to have a good quality of life and to be told that this is not good value for money is quite soul destroying.

Thankyou for taking the time to read this letter, I really hope people informing you of their concerns and difficulties dealing with the NDIS can bring about positive change for NDIS participants.
