National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 4104
Hello,
I am a concerned citizen. I fear that the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 will have detrimental affects on the disabled population, their families and carers, and the broader community. For the reasons I will expand upon later in this email, I request that the government withdraws this bill. All of the amendments proposed harm recipients and their support systems in some way. These proposed changes appear to increase the burden on whoever manages and receives the funding. For someone who needs hospital treatment and/or is reliant on others to communicate on their behalf for their plan, this increased more frequent questioning and surveillance makes it unrealistic to keep up with their NDIS plan. If I go back to hospital my main support is going to already be incredibly stressed with managing my condition as all my life others have failed to. It’s hard enough as it is and it’s taken decades for us to develop this understanding that brings mild stability to our lives if at all. When I can’t get help it is unfair to try take away supports under the pretence theyre not being used because in actuality we are just struggling more. Changing plans and everything means more mental work that just interferes with getting help.
I cannot support this bill because of my serious concerns, some of which were outlined here, and I ask that the government withdraws the bill.
