Submission on the NDIS Amendment Bill
Name: ____ _______________________________
I am a: x Disabled person ☐ Family member / supporter ☐ Clinician / worker ☐ Other: ___________________
My main concern about this Bill is:
(Write a few words or sentences)
The NDIS is already deliberately difficult to work with, keeping me from accessing it for support. Further, it comes at a time of massive increases in the defense budget. Not only is disability support a worthy cause, but I would support the most frivolous cause imaginable if it meant the military has less money for war mongering and destruction.
This Bill may affect me / people I support because:
● The NDIS is already set up to make disabled people give up on trying it, using red tape to tie us in knots. ●
One example from my experience (if you can):
NDIS needs to be expanded, and not attacked, so that people like me who are capable of working part-time and casual but incapable of full-time can access adjusted support.
What I want the committee to understand is:
These cuts are the actions of people who see no inherent value in human life. They want us to constantly prove we’re worthy of the food we put on our table, which everyone would have enough of if the military industrial complex didn’t exist specifically to endlessly suck money from the public so that we’re too tired to collectively organise to improve things. Supporters of these amendments should hang their heads in shame. I am memorising names like Mark Butler so I can remind people any time he runs for anything.
My position on this Bill:
I do not support it because it will make it harder for disabled people to access the support they deserve, and easier for the military to blow up brown people for their oil.
