National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 4233
To whom it may concern
Please do not make changes that make it harder for families like ours to access the NDIS.
My daughter faces daily challenges that many people never see. She works incredibly hard to learn, communicate, keep up at school, and navigate the world around her. She relies on speech therapy, occupational therapy, educational supports, and ongoing continence support to help manage the challenges she faces every day.
is currently working well below her year level academically and requires significant adjustments and support to access her education. She also experiences difficulties with daily living skills that many children her age can do independently.
The therapies and supports funded through the NDIS are not extras. They are essential. They help her build skills, gain confidence, improve her independence, and participate more fully in school, home life, and the community. Without the NDIS, many of these supports would simply be unaffordable for our family.
As parents, we want the same thing every parent wants: the chance for our child to reach her potential. The NDIS gives children like that opportunity. Any reduction in access, choice, control, or funding has real consequences for families already doing everything they can to support their children.
Please protect the NDIS and the people who genuinely rely on it every day.
