Parliament House

CANBERRA ACT 26OO

SUBMISSION:

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment

( Securing the NDIS for future Generations ) Bill 2026

My husband and I have two, adult daughters with multiple disabilities and associated complex medical issues.

HOW THE NDIS IMPACTS YOUR LIFE:

  • it has given us a future for our daughters lives

  • ongoing funding for support services

  • fexibility approach to use of funds

  • opens doors that were previously closed WHAT SUPPORTS MATTER MOST TO YOU:

  • funding for the continuance of our Plan Manager who manages the girls NDIS funds

  • ongoing funding for our Support Co-Ordinator who is so necessary to the girls in terms of liaising with their support services

  • and our LAC ( Local Area Co-Ordinator ) who liaises with NDIS for changes to PLANS and/or clarifcation of what funds can be used for purchases and services.

WHAT WORRIES YOU ABOUT THE PROPOSED

CHANGES:

  • the future of our daughters lives

  • impact on current support services

  • will close doors on current services if PLANS are severely modifed

  • loss of our Support Co-Ordinator and Plan Manager services

  • isolation

  • safety

  • breaking the circle of supports that are working well WHAT MUST CHANGE BEFORE THIS BILL PASSES:

  • It might also be benefcial to the Minister and the government if he were to acknowledge that those who have not misused the funding and have worked within the processes will not be punished !

  • It also might be progressive for the Minister to look at other ways to fund the NDIS OTHER THAN

TAKE A HUGE NUMBER OF CLIENTS OFF AND

LEAVE THEM IN THE WILDERNESS,,,,,,,,AGAIN !

  • Soften his approach! Listen to what suggestions others may have in terms of ‘changing the NDIS’

  • The Disability community needs to be on board with the ‘changes’ !

  • Their needs to be solid agreement on how the ‘changes’ are going to work,,,,,, CONSENSUS!

  • RIGID FLEXILIBITY might be useful

  • Consultation, consultation, consultation
