National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 529
Dear Dept of senate,
My name is and I am an NDIS participant residing in Kilsyth VIC. I was accepted on the scheme for a physical disability.
I am writing to you today to oppose the NDIS Future Generations Bill 2026 as it currently stands.
I am opposed to;
50% cut of social and community participation funding from October 2026:
Without this support I will not be able to;
-
Maintain relationships with family and friends leaving me socially isolated
-
Complete tasks in the community, such as shopping and picking up my medication
-
Attend appointments which will lead to further decline of my disability The new functional capacity test and reassessment of everyone:
I was accepted as an NDIS participant for a physical disability arising from a car accident. I have a permanent and lifelong disability that will not improve. If anything my function will decline. I am not receiving disability supports from the TAC and the NDIS proposal to remove participants and push them back to other services is not appropriate.
Without the NDIS;
- I am at risk of falls causing injury or death
- Social isolation
- Further financial hardship (I would be at risk of homelessness)
- Rapid decline of my disability and loss of mobility
- Mental health worsening All ‘appropriate treatments’ test for permanence for scheme eligibility:

Submission 529
There is no clear information indicating what is meant by ‘all appropriate treatments’. I am under a team of medical professionals who have decided what appropriate and not appropriate treatment for me is. This should only be decided by them and not the NDIS. This must be on an individual basis and what works for one person does not necessarily work for someone else and could be harmful.
The NDIS Future Generations Bill 2026 is leaving me extremely stressed and uncertain about my future.
I am asking you to oppose/vote against the bill and consider the harm it will cause to me and other NDIS participants.
