Submission on the NDIS Amendment Bill

I am a disabled person who relies on the NDIS to live my life. I ask that the Australian government withdraw this bill.

I am concerned that this bill will lead to my funding to be cut and I will no longer have access to supports who help me with daily living tasks and accessing my community. My support workers help me with my grocery shopping and daily tasks which has meant I have energy to feed myself and exercise which has led to improved mental wellbeing. My support workers also help me access the local LGBT+ gym regularly, where I have been able to socialise with my community.

People like me with psychosocial disabilities will be the first to be kicked off the NDIS as a result of this bill. This is unacceptable. Without my NDIS supports I was depressed, anxious and often suicidal. I was seriously fatigued and unable to work or study. Without my NDIS supports my quality of life will be seriously impacted.

This bill will lead to a steep increase in suicides in Australia and I am terrified of being one of them. I do not support this bill.

Please consider me, and thousands like me, when reviewing this bill.
