I am writing this submission as a ndis participant of 9 yrs on scheme in this time I have accessed the supports I need to be able to live as normal life as possible I am now also working as a client peer worker and advocate for a small service provider to make sure client voices are heard and listened to
The cuts to the ndis are going to have a big effect on my life I live in central west nsw and to go to appointments with allied healthcare and drs I am having to travel 40 mins minimum between towns the public transport is very limited So I will no longer be able to access these services without setting aside a whole day for travel to get to appointments that may only be max 1 hr or less My supports help me to do day to day living and transport to appointments when needed my functional capacity is going to greatly decrease with out these services My supported employment is also funded under social and community participation so the cuts proposed is going to mean I will lose my job as I will not have enough funding anymore to work and do my day to day living I don’t think the minster’s of ndis should be able to have god like powers to just cut people’s ndis funding just on a whi
