Difficulty managing daily tasks due to communication timeframes (Participant experience)

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 785

Submission on the NDIS Amendment Bill

I am a disabled person on the NDIS. I’m worried about this bill because of the effect it will have on me and my friends and community. Having tighter timeframes to respond to communication is difficult because it’s hard for me to manage day-to-day tasks my support workers are helping me do that and sometimes i dont have time with them to get to extra admin tasks. If then my supports are paused because of this it will make it even harder to respond. The bill proposes changes to limits on when plan reviews can happen. I need flexibility if I am going through a crisis.

This Bill may affect me because:

  • Using AI and automation for plan reviews makes it harder to appeal changes.
  • My plan supports could be paused because I’m struggling to communicate with the NDIS I want the committee to understand is being disabled is exhausting and we deserve flexibility and support.

My position on this Bill: I do not support it
