National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 909
Submission on the NDIS Amendment Bill
Name:
I am a: ☐ Disabled person
My main concern about this Bill is: The increased use of administrative or automated systems
This Bill may affect me / people I support because:
● One of my disabled friend’s funding has already been cut and has been denied reassessment. This has lead to a loss of their supports and a decline in their health. They have been told there are no alternative options for their care but the NDIS. ● I am anxious about having my funding cut and losing my essential supports. I do not have other options outside the NDIS for the level of support I need for daily functioning.
What I want the committee to understand is:
That disabled people deserve care and dignity. That these measures to cut costs will just come back in different ways - our needs don’t go away just because you stop supporting us. In fact, they become more difficult and more expensive to care for when they are ignored, and other systems such as Medicare are put under strain with the burden of dealing with them.
My position on this Bill: ☐ I do not support it
Because: I care about funding the care for the most vulnerable in society.
