National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 964
Dear Senate Committee
I write to implore you not to pass the NDIS Future Generations Bill in its current form. The proposed changes would be extremely harmful for people with disability.
I am a father of two young adult participants and work in a group home supporting men with severe disabilities. At home and at work I see the life-changing impact of the NDIS. The proposed changes threaten the safety and quality of life of disabled people.
I do not believe this Bill is in keeping with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It takes away individual rights, choice and control from people with disabilities. I hope the Committee is giving due consideration to whether the Bill complies with human rights and the UNCRPD.
We call ourselves the lucky country. This is not how we expect our government, our elected representatives, to treat our most vulnerable. There are so many ways to save money in the NDIS ecosystem without punishing disabled people, their families, and the workforce who support them.
Please listen to the voices most impacted. Reject this Bill and take proper time to consult with people with disabilities and their carers to develop better, safer solutions to save the NDIS.
Kind regards
