Response

The NDIA conducts eligibility reassessments to ensure NDIS participants remain eligible to receive NDIS funded supports. The NDIA may check a participant’s eligibility if there is evidence that suggests the participant may no longer be eligible for inclusion in the scheme. For example, they may no longer meet one of more of the residence, disability or early intervention requirements.

To enable our response to part 2 of your request, we sought data from the agency’s Analytical, Data and Actuarial Division (ADA).

ADA advised that, from 1 January 2025 - 31 March 2025, 98 eligibility reassessments were completed for participants who had originally met access to the National Disability Insurance Scheme on the basis of a psychosocial disability.

Of those 98 reassessments, 57% resulted in a decision to revoke the participant’s access to the scheme.
